the middle of road is the hardest to uphold
the well worn paths outside of me
tend to present only the extreme
spoken so loudly you can hardly make out
what they mean

C: the middle way is doomed, due to lack of volume

when the messengers shrink for long enough to breathe
inhale deep and start to think
to choose a path rather than be towed
a load behind their guiding light

too often the pull is strong and we go along
let others choose the course of history
lights so bright we can't see
another option? what kind of potion are you drinking?

there is no way but thinking
the path of the middle ground sees the whole of it's surroundings
this leads to perspective, unfortunately
once rejected the outside will continue to spew

their vulgar positions will envelop you
as their voices swell your thoughts dwell
in the silence amidst the screams
to continue to exist clear the head daily for sustenance

unless
the voices grow so proud
the talking heads can't hold their ground
